How do I defrost?

We recommend thawing in your fridge for 16-24 hours.

Rather interesting legal regulations prevent us from telling you how we thaw them on the counter in a much shorter time period.  You’ll have to figure that out on your own =)

How to prepare Mama Viet Meals Frozen Pho?

When you’re ready to enjoy your frozen pho, simply take out the kit out of your freezer, thaw them in your refrigerator the night before, and reheat on the stovetop whenever you are ready to eat.

Alternatively, you can put the frozen soup in a saucepan and cook them directly. Once the soup broth start to boil, put in the noodle and bring it to boil again. Voila, put them in a bowl, add your fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lemon as desired and enjoy!

We do not recommend using microwave to reheat the soup, though you can if you are in a hurry or at work, but we advise against it to keep the nutrients fully intact.

How long does the food last in the freezer?

Our food last several months in the freezer.

Mama Viet Meals is Real Food with NO preservatives.  Frozen food can be kept for several months, but we recommend consuming them regularly.  We include a “freshest by” date on the container, but we’ve gone way beyond that and still enjoyed delicious meals!

How long does food last in the fridge?

Thawed food can last several days in the refrigerator.  Transfer to an air-tight container if you plan on eating it over several days.  The old-fashioned smell-test works great if it’s been a week or so.  Trust your gut and use your best judgement.

How much freezer space do I need?

We use 32oz stackable paper containers that measure 5″ x 7″ x 3.5″ each. Just multiply the size by the quantities you ordered. As a rule of thumb, be sure you’ve got freezer space cleared out before your delivery arrives!  If you’ve got room we recommend having a standup deep freezer.  We used ours for meal and meat storage since we buy in bulk and it’s delivered frozen to our door.

Are meals certified gluten-free?

We do not operate in a “certified” gluten-free kitchen so we cannot make this claim.  Rest assured we only source gluten-free ingredients.  We realized long ago how much better life feels without gluten!  We’re committed to keeping it out of our recipes.

Do you have vegan or vegetarian options?

Currently we do not offer vegan or vegetarian options.

As a small company we must focus on what we believe in.  To us, meat is medicine.  It’s the most nutrient dense food on the planet and helps speed recovery, improve energy, and balance hormones.

That being said, we are open to adding vegan and vegetarian options.  If you’d like to see these on the menu please reach out to us at hello@mama-meals.com.  We want to serve as many Mama’s as possible! <3

The Hungry Mama package = $495 (about $10/serving). Think about how amazing that is btw :P.  It’s a huge box (almost 50 pounds) so if you’re in Tennessee add around $70 for shipping and you’re at ~$11/serving!  DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR.  TRY AND BEAT THAT!!

What I’m getting at is the extra shipping cost is totally worth it!  <3
